Website Assessment Services
At Accessibility Labs, we help businesses ensure their websites are accessible, functional, and user-friendly. Our assessments combine real-world usability testing with WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards. This approach helps meet legal obligations and broadens your audience.
What is WCAG 2.2 AA Compliance?
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) were developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). W3C is an organization responsible for setting international web standards. Accessibility Labs follows WCAG 2.2, the latest version published in December 2024.
Level AA is the most commonly adopted standard worldwide. It focuses on essential usability improvements that support legal compliance and enhance the user experience.
Who Benefits?
- Users: WCAG was created to help people access the web regardless of device, location, language, or ability.
- Businesses and Website Operators: Accessible websites improve engagement and expand your reach to more users.
- Legal and Compliance Teams: Accessibility reduces the risk of lawsuits and supports compliance with laws like the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Developers and UX Teams: Our reports provide clear, actionable guidance that fits into your team’s workflow.
- Organizations Focused on Reputation: Meeting recognized standards shows a commitment to inclusion and digital responsibility.
Beyond Guidelines
A website can meet WCAG guidelines and still frustrate users. That’s why our process goes beyond compliance. We flag real-world usability concerns that WCAG may not cover directly but still impacts how users interact with your site.
Our Process
We blend manual testing with automated tools to deliver a complete view of your site’s accessibility. Our team includes certified accessibility professionals and experienced usability testers.
- Discovery: We start by identifying your website’s goals, audience, and high-impact pages.
- Automated Scans: We use trusted tools to catch common accessibility issues quickly.
- Manual Testing: We use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, and voice controls to test real-world experiences.
- Detailed Reporting: Our reports include clear, categorized issues and solutions. We also generate a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) when needed.
- Follow-Up Support: We verify that fixes work and update the VPAT to reflect progress.
Note: A VPAT is required when working with federal agencies. Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requires WCAG 2.0 AA compliance, which is included within WCAG 2.2 AA.
